Details revealed on Sydney Materials Handling

Organisers say October’s Sydney Materials Handling will be 25% larger than the inaugural 2007 event.

The convention will be held at the Sydney Showground from 28 to 30 October 2008. It is targeted at logistics, warehousing and production professionals, and will showcase a range of load, move and shift solutions.

Together with The Safety Show Sydney, the events will host more than 350 exhibitors across three and a half acres.

While key logistics equipment like forklifts will play a big part, with exhibitors including Clark Equipment, NTP and Toyota, the show will also feature other solutions like keyless security technology and radio frequency identification (RFID).

A number of companies will also be launching their products during the event. For example, the Warehouse@Work www.futuremedia.com.au interactive e-learning tool will demonstrate safe manual handling approaches to tasks like picking, sorting, packing, transport and loading in a real warehouse.

Warehouse of Mats will release a new range of anti-fatigue, oil resistant matting, while Warehousing Equipment will showcase its 500 kg capacity battery-driven platform trolley, the Powered Pushmate.
