Linx food-grade ink gets FSANZ tick of approval

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has approved the ingredients in Linx’s Blue Food Grade Ink 6220 and Food Grade Solvent (Blue) 6650 for use in food and contact with food.

According to Matthews Intelligent Identification, the exclusive distributor agency for Linx inks in Australia, said while not approving products or formulations, FSANZ authorises the use of specific chemicals for food production and packaging in Australia and New Zealand.

Matthews’ Phil Biggs said the FSANZ approval follows earlier approval from both the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union regulatory bodies.

“The Linx food-grade inks are for the Linx 7300FG. This coder has all the benefits of the Linx 7300 continuous inkjet (CIJ) printer, and achieves the same high quality print results with food-grade inks.”

Developed, tested and manufactured by Linx, the food-grade inks contain only edible, raw materials. The inks are tested during development and manufactured to strict specifications, giving a high level of quality assurance. It is suitable for coding and marking edible products, as well as suitable to code packaging that comes into contact with food.
