Champion Compressors has launched a family of energy efficient EcoPak air compressors.
According to the company, EcoPak is the only air compressor family that has variable speed drive (VSD) output technology combined with variable output control (VOC) speed functionality.
The EcoPak family of compressors is available in nine models, ranging from 50 to 250 kW. The line is based on Champion Compressor’s drive design, which utilises optimal flux technology from motor manufacturer, WEG.
The company said this allows the drive to adjust its calibration to suit the compressor motor, and enables the compressor to run continuously in 50 degree Celsius conditions at 100 per cent speed, or at minimum speed with no loss of torque.
The optimal flux technology reduces motor temperatures by as much as 11 per cent, which eliminates the need for forced ventilation, minimises motor losses, and improves both the efficiency and longevity of the motor, Champion Compressors added.
