BOC launched a hygienic tunnel freezer at FoodPro 2008, which it claims has quick freezing capabilities to maintain the quality and shape of food products.
The CRYOLINE MT tunnel freezer uses liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide to obtain extremely fast freezing speeds.
According to the company, the unit will keep costs at a minimum because it is highly efficient in its consumption of refrigerants. The choice between liquid nitrogen and liquid carbon dioxide allows one unit to be used in different situations by replacing the coolant.
The tunnel freezer can be linked to an industrial PC, allowing operators to view trends and events during the production cycle, and download these as traceable records.
The freezer is constructed to allow easy cleaning, with no traps for dirt or food residues. All fan motors, control pipes and electrical pipes are hidden beneath the top covers, allowing for a faster cleaning process.
Sloping inside surfaces are said to prevent cleaning water residues, and deposits can be removed through a central drain. The underside of the belt can be cleaned by lifting it to provide access.
The unit is fitted with specially designed fans for very high heat transfer and efficient refrigerant spraying. It is suited for a variety of food applications.
